The Cape Playhouse, Route 6A, Dennis Village. The Cape Playhouse is America's oldest professional summer theater. Founder, Raymond Moore moved an abandoned Unitarian meetinghouse to land on Old King's Highway he had acquired in the 1920s. The theater opened in 1927 with a play starring Basil Rathbone. Henry Fonda and Bette Davis, a former playhouse usher, made their acting debuts here.Artifacts
