Florence May Crowell. Florence “Flossie” May Crowell, first wife of John Elmer Baxter. She was born in Harwich, 27 Apr 1870, daughter of George Henry Crowell (1839 – 1913) by his wife Mercy Baker Mayo (b. Harwich about 1840). She and John Elmer Baxter were married by Rev. W. H. McAllister, of West Dennis, 28 Aug 1890 in West Dennis, and they were divorced in 1897. Florence never remarried and she died in Dennis, 31 July 1921 of “aortic regurgitation”; her burial spot is unknown and she has no gravestone in Dennis.Artifacts
