    Description
Photo 24: In May of 1884, Grace Lenard became the bride of Earl Aldrich in Fall River, Mass. This lovely gown of ivory satin symbolizes that wedding. The flattering fitted bodice is edged at the waist with a satin ruff to form a “V”; ten thread embroidered buttons fasten the bodice. The square neck has a formal stand-up Elizabethan collar. The gown is outlined at the neck and elbow-sleeves with a ruff made from satin. The long train starts at the collar and ends in a graceful lace train. The skirt has two rows of six pleats in front for fullness. The skirt is bordered with a satin and lace ruffle. Loaned by Mrs. Donald B. Aldrich; modeled by Miss Frances Hallet.
