Bible of James Sturgis Howes Containing an Insert, Bookmark and Valentines Day Cards
Abstract
This Bible is 8” wide x 10¾” high x 3” thick. It is in excellent condition, with just normal wear on the leather cover. The Bible was published by the American Bible Society, New York, 1959. The family record pages are located between the Apocrypha and the New Testament. All entries in the Bible are written in the same hand. Pasted on the page preceding the family record pages is a small sheet insert, containing a number of family. Also tucked in the Bible were two valentine cards and one bookmark. One valentine card, size 7” wide x 4” high, consists of items glued front and back onto a stencil. The second valentine, also hand-made, is folded, but has no writing inside. It is 3¾” wide x 5¾” high. The bookmark is done with cross-stitch on a perforated backing. Size is 2” wide x 3½” high.Related items
