JOAN & NORTON NICKERSON COLLECTION - ALBUM 1: This is a small 7½”x5½” album of some 20 leaves, covers torn off. Each leaf of 2 pages has the capacity for 4 cartes de visites photos of 2¼”x 4." Although most pages are empty, Many of the photos are labeled in ink on the album and there are “post-it” notes attached with more information. One says “Book of photos rec’d from Gail Hoxie Brown Sept 23, 1998. Burton N. Derick's (transcriber) supposition[?] is that Ruth Bangs Nickerson Baker did the annotations, but that the book did not get taken to Hawaii in 1903 when she & her son Bert Baker first went abroad. Pages are not numbered, but the photos are identified by the page number on which they appear, with one exception: if there is no labeled photo, than the page is empty.
