    Abstract
    This was the oldest letter in a folder containing mostly legal-sized paper, bearing an old label: Statement Ship Christopher Hall. A recent label on the folder has: Ship Papers - Scargo, Hippogriffe, Ellen Sears et al. Letters/documents in this folder were Undated 03, 1841-12-31, 1844-02-09, 1850-10-26, 1855-08-20, 1857-02-18, 1858-06-16, 1859,-04-28, 1860-05-04, 1862-03-23, 1862-04-09, 1865-12-20 and 1867-01-21. 1841-12-31 is a Bill of Sale of Portions of Brig Democrat to P.S. Crowell and David Crowell
