E FAMILY COLLECTION – DOCUMENTS: During the clean-out of the Library at the Manse for its renovation, two paper sacks were found which contained materials from the Stone Family. It is not known when these were delivered to the Manse, nor by whom. The sacks were stuffed in a cupboard and forgotten. The sacks were retrieved and the documents therein sorted. Found, among other things, were Parish Tax books, Parish Treasurer accounts from the 1740s onward, one diary of Rev. Nathan Stone (for 1768), photos, and various other items. The other things have been dealt with elsewhere in the archives. The documents included invitations and announcements, letters, and other items. A large number are obviously 1700s vintage, with the remainder 1800s. They are so labeled, with some other descriptive words, and the originals are filed at the end of the century they represent.en_US
